Working on replacing an engine. What size are the axle nuts? To take the axles off the car. Thinking 33 mm here.
never mind! Found it. 30 mm
30mm works, 1 and 1/8th inch seems to fit a bit better though
14.82 @ 97 mph
It's actually 28mm. But 30 will fit.

Uh, that's a pretty big difference. Using a 30mm on a 28mm nut would round it off for sure, especially with how tight the axle nuts are.

Aparently you haven't tried or you would know it works.
depends on the cut of socket....... but I'm pretty sure GM lists it as a 30mm.....

I just changed my front hub/bearing a few weeks ago and I used a 30mm.
It's a 99z24 so I would think they are all the same.
Well I'm glad mine fit cause I paid almost $17 for the socket!!
Go to a AUTO PARTS Store, ask them for the correct size, I did and it was a 30mm.

Yeah people can ask whoever they want, it's still 28mm, and 30mm will still fit (if it's 6 point).
30mm was a little loose, but worked fine w/ impact wrench.
yep my 30mm worked, just was loose, and it was an impact socket (6pt)
Maybe it's a different year thing?? I've only worked on 98 and newer... and all of them were 30mm... there is no way in hell a 28 would fit.
And the N-body stuff we swapped was 34mm....
I have a 28mm socket here... no way it'll fit my 00 axles nuts.

I have tried both the 30mm and 28mm, and only the 30mm fit on my 2002 aswell.
Did they change it some year? My 97, 95 and 95 GAM all are 28mm.
