front koni Red bolt question.
Thursday, June 08, 2006 6:36 PM
ok, i guess i did not tighten the bolt that holds the new front insert to the strut housing enough so after these long 3 months, the right side fell off on the freeway (i heard them and checked). does anyone know exactly what the size and thread pattern are on these bolts? i need to get replacement as soon as possible. i dont wanna drive my car because it makes scary noises when i hit bumps and i dont wanna do damage. I have already redid the left side again with thead-loc. I asked koni to get replacements (will come in next week by wed) but i need the car in working order right away because its my daily driver.

here is a pic from the install guide to refer to what i am talking about.

the bolt is M14x1.50x30mm Its metric, and most likely have to be special order b/c M14's don't usually come at 1.50 thread pitch..

But there u go!ps.. u some lock tight.

Did you tighten them to spec with a torque wrench?

No problem.
We should almost sticky the size. I just got yellows, and took it to an auto store to try to get extra. Thats how i figured the size, but of course they ddn't have any.
