Front end noise - new suspension
Thursday, June 08, 2006 5:22 AM
A couple of weeks back, I installed GR-2's, new strut mounts, and control arm bushings. Now when I am driving and hit a medium to large bump, I get a bang or thud from my front right side (I will only happen once per bump, and doesn't happen every time). I double checked everything on the front suspension, and everything seems tight.

The only thing I can see that could be an issue is that the front sway bar is very close to the frame on the right side. I have new bushings all around on the front sway bar (D-links and end links). Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Is it possible you're bottoming out the strut??
I know some people get that slightly sportier feel of the GR2s and end up taking bumps and whatnot faster than they used to.

No. It actually happens at slower speeds too (i.e. parking lot speeds). Its more likely to happen if I hit a bump while I am turning right.
