and i was looking at the warranty for the gr2's and they say you can lower up to 1.5" so technically they would be fine with the prokit but im looking more for ride comfort here.

Why would you do such a thing? And the fronts would most likely blow first. Just stick with the AGX's

Why would you mix and match?

GR2's are OEM replacemtns...and will not handle any drop..they are for stock settings....sorry ur gonna need 4 AGX's

To answer your question, for the AGX's go with the front.

the money you spend on doing this you could probably buy all 4 agxs for cheaper

exactly, why do a job twice and waste your money ?

GR2s may be warrantied for 1.5" drop, but that doesn't mean they handle it. Just means KYB will replace them. But you have to take them off, ship in, wait, put new on, alignment (sound like fun yet?).

Mixing and Matching oem shocks with good after-market ones will kill your handling, as the front will handle quite different than the rear.

You are hilarious!

But seriously, don't do this. Your talking about saving maybe $100. Ebay has sets of AGX's for about $375 shipped (last time I checked).

Here is why you don't want to do this:
The prokit lowers the AGX's to their limit. In order for the AGX's to work properly with the springs they need to be set at about 50-75% of their maximum stiffness. GR2's are only 5% stiffer than stock, so they are about as stiff as an AGX on its softest setting.

If you set your AGX's at their softest setting and use the GR2's your car is going continue to bounce all over the place after driving over larger bumps because your shocks are not stiff enough. If you stiffen AGX's in the front and leave the GR2s in the rear, your car is going to understear. If you stiffen AGX's in the rear and have GR2s in the front the car is going to oversteer. Either way it is a BAD IDEA since your car handles best when it is neutral.

I'm not trying to be a jerk (maybe having a little fun with you since you are new), but what you are talking about doing is a horrible idea and for your safety you should not do it.

why is it that these companies have these warranties if they are just gonna blow?
seems so retarted. that was the only reason i chose the setup i did.

^^^ They just say the warranty the 1.5" for any car. You would be ok with a very light car like a civic hatch but not a 2600+ J. Just saves them time and money. Also if you keep sending them back, I'm sure they will get tired of it and say you abused them.

THEY ARE NOT AN OEM REPLACEMENT! THEY HAVE A LIFETIME WARRENTY AND ARE WARRENTIED FOR UP TO A 1.5" DROP, AGX's ARE THE SAME BUT ARE WARRENTIED FOR A MAX 2" DROP!

ok so to get that off my chest, they are a gas charged shock, not an oem oil replacement shop, they ARE a step up, if you're looking for stock replacement, then get a munroe sensatrac! THEY ARE oem replacements.

done and done.

Since when are AGX's warrantied to a 2" drop?

Re: dont get mad........

^^^^thats what i want to know, its always been a 1.5 inch drop.

quote]GR2's are only 5% stiffer than stock, so they are about as stiff as an AGX on its softest setting.

I don't know where you got this info but I can say that GR2 are much more stiff than AGX even when set up for maximum handling. I tested them with a miata with AGX and eibach pro kit and my car with GR2 and pro kit.

As for the warranty I called them before buying and they told me that both AGX and GR2 could support a drop of 1.5 inch and are covered with the same warranty.

Finally to answer the initial question, if you want to buy 2 GR2 and 2 AGX, put the GR2 in the front and the AGX in the rear as you need more stiffness in the front. But think it twice, GR2 are really stiff, if I could go back in time I would buy a set of AGX because the roads are pretty bad here in Quebec Canada! Beside that I love my GR2

Wow... That is definatley some faulty logic. Not only is your logic faulty, but your conclusions don't make any sense with real world facts.

I'm not sure where I read that GR-2's are only 5% stiffer than stock. I believe it was Event that said that.

Take the blown strut off, send in (postage!), wait, put new on, alignment. How many times do you want to do that? Every 6 to 12 months? Sounds like fun to me too.

AGXs are warrantied and meant for up to 1.5" drop (or there-abouts). IIRC they'll take up to 225/150 spring rates. B+Gs are 225/165, which is why we say they're borderline. ProKit is 215/140, which is why they're recommend for Js. (Note that the spring rates are at ride height, or about 25% compression by height).

That's a LIMITED lifetime warranty. At ABOUT 1.5", subject to THEIR discretion.

AGX have always had a 1.5" warranty.

On another note i have e-mail KYB on three seperate occassions and they have always replied that KYB GR2's are not warrantied on lowered applications. I know the website says on thing and they say something else so why get something that you know is not going to work
