Racer Design Coilover

^link

aye i just had a friend buy a set of these from a local shop here in washington. The guy stressed that they were worth every peny. He paid only $125 for them.. Anyways i was wondering if they looked like a good set. I only ask because ive been around these forums a while and heard many reviews and complaints about coilovers that wernt complete or turned to crap. So besides the fact that its missing the tophat bearing thats critical, is the spring etc atleast good? Because hes set on trying them...

thanks

ps... i wish he would buy some shocks too... hes like ill just use the stock ones till they go out... sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

yea, as el fuego said, u get wat u pay for. and in the event that this guy does buy the springs, and can actually get them to fit rite, with stock shocks/ struts he'll bottom out like crazy, because of the fact that they aren't rated for drop, and when you do put a drop on them, you compress the shock, not leaving much room for more, regular driving compression, like bumps in the road. im sure its possible and tollerable to a point, but who really wants to risk it with your car that close to the ground.

or you could of just said their cheap generic coilovers which probably have a ridiciously high spring rate

To many companies selling stuff and they are not suspension experts. They are just selling a product.

Hey there, I got some Bomz coil Overs, and I'm having a problem installing the fronts. Does anyone know if you need to disassemble the strut mount bearings, or?

Any help is appreciated

STOP TRYING. Put everything back to stock. Put them back in the box, and sell them.

There going to do more harm , then you think. Buy quality coil overs which are like $600+.

yea dude, next time maybe do a little research before you buy cheap s hit off ebay or off your friends or wherever else you could possible get this crap... because a "good deal" may not really be... this is all over this site, and honestly any site that you can find discussing quality car parts...these springs dont fit, they are too short, and they aren't quality springs... even if you can magically manage to get those cheap things on the car, it wont last long at all...

in all honesty, no one in their rite mind would buy this crap... because of the fact that its CHEAP, and you get what you pay for man.
suggestions: sell the springs on ebay to another poor soul, and save your money for a set of real coilovers... like groundcontrol, or tein... or ANYTHING EXCEPT BOMZ...

really tho, good luck with this... if you can get it to work more power too ya. but i dont believe anyone here has, or at least has and enjoyed it... so dont be lookin for too much help here, cause this is pretty much all youre gonna get.

I concur with most of the suggestions here except those who say you should sell them.

You shouldn't.

You should throw them out. Now that you know they're garbage, you cannot in good conscience sell them to anyone else. Basically, you'll be knowingly screwing them and that's just not cool.

Now if you send them to this thread, and they still insist on buying them from you... then by all means take their money. But if you pawn them off on someone without telling them that they're garbage and not fit to be installed, then you're a bastard and will lose the respect of anyone who ever finds out about it.

Sorry about your loss, guys. But toss them out and start saving for a proper setup.
