Quick Q: Would putting cassis grease on the strut rods make the struts softer? Mine feel hard.

No. There's plunger inside that operates it.
If you don't have adjustable you probably don't want them any softer than they are. Remember you have a J-Body weighing in around 2800lbs. Not a 6000lb Cadilac.
