Is the suspension on a z24 any different than a regular cav

i think it has a "sport" suspension...

i think the spring rates are slightly different

Z24s have the FE2 suspension normally. In your trunk, the spare tire cover has a sticker on it with all the option codes. Look for a FE# code (should be FE2).
Front Sway Bar:
95-05
FE0: No Bar
95-02:
FE1: 18mm
FE2: 22mm
03-05:
FE1: 19mm
FE2: 24mm
Rear "Bar":
95-05
FE0 & FE1: None
FE2: Little bar welded in the axle.

It's been reported that the struts are different also, but I've never seen any real diffference.

Same springs and struts. Same part numbers, if I'm not mistaken, across the board.

the Z24 has a small sway bar welded into the rear twist beam, it's not much but better than nothing.

HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

I disagree. People always say this but I find the difference between the base models and the sport suspension (GT/Z24) to be dramatic. The only real difference is the front bar and that bar welded in to the axle. With that in mind, I say it's definitely effective and well worth having there.

Sure, it's not the same as a 1" Eibach sway bar bolted up... but it's way better than nothing at all.

^^^ I worded that wrong sorry.

what I meant to say is... "It's not much, but it is better than nothing."

Let me reword what I said too: I know the struts are different part number, and different physical items. I don't believe there is hardly any difference between them though, if any. The spring designs (coils per foot) are also different from year to year, but the rate has always stayed the same.

You might think that little chunk of metal makes some difference, but it not much when compared to a real rear sway bar.
