I was wondering how low I can go with 18 inch wheels, my tire size is 225/45/18. I was thinking of the Eibach sportline springs 1.7 drop, but I don't know if they will rub with that setup, they also make the 1.4 drop but looks like it sits too high. If anybody can posts some pics with 18's installed and tell me how much drop they have that would be great. Thanks, Josh
I have a 99 z24 with 18's on it. My tire size is exactly the same as yours and I have the eibach sportline springs on my car and i've never had a problem with them rubbing. I can see if I can get some pics but I have my stock rims on right now since I got a flat with the 18's. But if you're putting the springs on I recommend getting shocks and struts too, I have the KYB's and once again, never any problems.
Get proper tires, 40 series are the right size on 18s for a J-Body, and then you wont have issues running sportline's drop. I do on my Sunfire.
i got sportlines with 18's and no rubbing, i was in your boat didnt want to at first but im sooooo glad i went with the sportlines instead of anything else
yea you dont want a 45 series tire, switch to a 40 and you'll be more accurate and be able to drop it more.
with my 18's i can go as low as the car lets me
Thanks, guys I guess I am going to have to sell my tires and get the 40 series tires. I just went with what discount tire said, I think I should have them replace the tires because I was on their site and it said nothing about 45 series tires, so they put the wrong tires on in the first place.
i knwo im not low enough yet
Yeah, definitely the wrong size tire.
As for the drop... make sure you get some Konis or Teins for those Sportlines.
Eric can i hump your car that things a beauty
yes u can do wtever u like ahahahah, just clean up the mess
