Vibration after lowering
Thursday, February 09, 2006 3:05 PM
Ok so I just got my d-specs and sport lines installed. Lovin it BTW. I have this weird vibration between 40-50 mph. Never had it before, and yes I got an alignment. Also the car feels really unstable at speeds above 85, like its loose or something. Just looking for any opinions. Thanks~

P.S. Here's a pic of the new install, and no I didn't rip the underskirting it was like that when I bought the car.

well j-bodies in general dont feel stbale at 85, but the vibration could be a wheel bearing or loose bolt

Yeah I didn't have that vibration before lowering it, and it only happens while accelerating if I let off the gas it goes away. But yeah my car USED to feel smooth and stable at 100+ (not on the street of course) but now it just feels sloppy. I prolly just need to dial in the suspension.

Mine feels quite stable at 85. Course I've done a few things to improve that, but you still shouldn't have vibration. Sounds like a ball joint, control arm bushings, or something around that area. Could be a bearing going too.

I am reluctant to suggest this for various reasons. Are you sure all of your lug nuts are tight? I may or may not have forgotten to tighten mine once which might have resulted in a hard to diagnose vibration that varied depending on if I was on the gas.

Yeah. I got my Bonne back from a certain Bell place once with the lugs hand tight, two studs broke off before I knew what was wrong. (This was a while back too, haven't had the Bonne for a while).

Re-check all the bolts
