Brakes popping...

Basic Info: 2001 Cavalier Base

A few days ago i had a shop install powerslot rotors and hawk pads (package from Gravana). Ever since, under heavy braking ( almost to the point of ABS but not quite) there is a popping noise from the left front. The shop doesn't know what could be causing it, and I can't see anything off either.

One thought is that since the rotors are slotted and the pads are new they are making the noise, but now I'm not so sure....any ideas?

Yes, I actually followed the procedures on that site the day I got them. As the brakes started fading the noise did, but as soon as they cool it comes back.

I was wondering if that could be it, never had slotted rotors but it makes sense.
