I didn't know whether i should put it here or in photo so i chose here
yes its on small tires in the pic its all setup for 19-20's
I wanted it for 19's so measured a buddies and got 25 1/2 in. and later found out my cousins 20's are the same size so I'm not sure what its set up for at the moment
rear stripped and ready for measureing

main cross-member fitted

tacked in final position

crx spindle after five lug conversion using cavalier front disk brakes

lower control arm with bag mounts

upper control arm mounts

welding everything in

layed down

Next try to do something a little more original.

Holy cow!!
Certainly not a bolt on, eh?
Looks good... how's it ride?
thanks for all the comments
esb- hows a 5 spd turbo v8 underneath the stock hood. Is that original enough?
Firebug- I only have about 30 hrs into it but its not done yet.
Lenko- I'm not done i still have to put a tie rod in and finish the caliper brackets and plumb the brakes.

Im willing to bet it rides pretty damn good since its at about a 2:1 lift ratio.
I would personaly get rid of those tired bags and throw some RE7 slam bags in it.

Nope. Not cool enough. Twin turbo it and I'll give you props

those bags were off my buddies truck just for mock up and getting it on the trailor.
I will be getting new bags as soon as i get a job seeing as i just graduated I have no cash.
it might actually end up being twin so i dont have to tie the two manifolds into one
Any serious thaught on what bags you will be running?
I Just picked up some RE7 slam specialties for my truck but IM thinking about putting them in the rear of my cavy. Ive read and heard to many good things about them.
Of course I cant rule out the 300 psi dual half Inch port 2B7s that Air lift hooked me up with after the trouble I Had with my bags last year.
Im just bustin your chops about the motor. I dont care what you do. All I care about is air ride.

no clue on the bags yet got to get my new tanks, valves, hardlines, and fuell cell in first.
I also want to set it up as a cantilever for monster lift so I got alot to do before considering bags
I know I'm running 1/2" single port kinda quick but real smooth is what I'm going for so pry just the the firestone 2500
Well right now its got a 2 to 1 lift ratio. THats already pretty damn good.
Be carefull not to kill to much time on a cantilever setup when the upper a arms are going to stop you from getting alot of lift. It dosnt seem like they will drop much before the ball joint locks out.
But I think your bag placement now will offer great lift and a great ride.

actually if you look at the last pic i only have a 1:1 ratio tha bag is mounted basically at the tire. The lower arm is basically already set for the cantilever for 13 in. of travel. I want to run it with cylinders for a sick dog leg and I have yet to see it succesful.
eric
get back on bags so i can mess with them next time
i wanna jump around like ya with the switch box
hmm looks like its at the midpoint between the two pivots on the lower bar.
It might not be an exact 2:1 but its for sure more than a 1:1
Ozzie. Next time you see my car there will be some switches you can play with.
Going to do some work on it later today actualy.

thought you ditched the bags esb
THey have been off sence last July when a rear bag popped and I discoverd a front one was going bad. But I miss them. I baught an S10 thinking I wouldnt care about the car anymore but now im realizing I would rather rebag the car than the S10.
Even though Bags may seem to be getting done alot on JBO. Its nothing in the real world. If I roll around Houston in a bagged S10 it would be the same as rolling around in a Honda Civic with altezas and a muffler. Dime a dozen.
But bagged J bodies are very rare in Texas. My car always stood out at meets and it would take more money than Im willing to spend to make my truck get the kind of attention my car gets. Im not big into showing but I love cruising with others and hanging out and I miss the attention.
Im still going to bag my truck but everything else will most likely stay stock. Its going to be a very basic low cost setup. no fancy stuff. I just need it to hall my ATV, pic up parts, move stuff from time to time, and um I guess thats about it.

to
"crown and coke is yummy for your tummy"
just my $.02
thats some awesome work man
thanks for the comments guys I update it as soon as I finish my cantilever setup
can't wait to see it finished. amazing work, bro!
I'm assuming you did this for apperance then, not handling?
Protonus- Yes i am not into speed but more into the low and draggin'
Its amazing how much of a better driver I became after getting bags.
I just rolled low all over the place crusing at the speed limit. Sometimes I find myself going like 10 under.
Being low as hell is something I wanted sence I picked up my first truckin' mag back in the early 90s. Then I found Lowrider mag and It was all over. I knew that one day I would have something dragging down the road.
