Check with the 3rd gen or performance forums?
But since you asked, most guys will tell you to swap to an LD9 or L61. That really is the best route to go, but if you don't want to make the swap, try these:
B&M Shiftplus
Pulleys
Intake, header, exhaust
Cam regrind
Motor/tranny mounts
Any of those things will give you a little more oomph. I highly recommend the shiftplus. Easily the best bang for the buck.

do they make underdrive pulleys for the 2.2 ohv
MD -LD9- makes pulleys. I'm sure he has an LN2 design. You could also see if MRZ performance would make one for you. I would shoot an e-mail to both.
