This may sound like a stupid Question but how do you go about hooking your fuel pump to a toggle
somehow the fuel pump wire going into my fuse box got melted and I need to put it on a switch to get it to work
bad idea, just replace the wire. its very simple and strait forward...just remember to use shrink tubing and solder if your going to repair it your self. using a toggle swith could cause many problems, including keeping the pump going when there is no fuel, over-pressurising the system, and no fuel saftey shut off. repair, dont rig

ok then so does the pink wire with black stripe comming of the fuse box run to the relay under the hood ?
or what
Is this what you need:-
Fuel Pump Fuse 10amp----Pink/Black------F8--C100----Junction S126-----
--------- Fuel Pump Relay 87 ---------Grey to Fuel Pump -----via Junction S173
and Oil Pressure Switch Contact C------Grey to Fuel Pump -----via Junction S173
Alont
put it in Lamins terms
LOL
LOL
From the Fuel Pump fuse the Pink/Black runs to Pin F8 of Connector C100 (Upper LH side of dash) and then to a junction/splice S126(LH Strut tower) the wire is joined to two wires, both Pink/Black)
1.One of these wires goes to 87 contact on the Fuel Pump Relay base. When the relay makes 87 is connected to Relay base contact 30 which is a Grey wire running to splice/junction S173 and on to the fuel pump.
2.The Second wire (Pink/Black) goes to the oil pressure switch Contact C. When oil pressure is present out on Contact D (A Grey wire) This Grey wire joins the Grey wire from 1. at junction/splice S173 and the single Grey wire from this splice goes on to the Fuel Pump
Is this any good?
Alont
got it
ok got the wire replaced and now can hear the fuel pump come on. now there is no fuel pumping threw the pump
I pulled the fuel feed line to the fuel rail turn the key and nothing no fuel
now what can this be
if you hear the pump running, but you have no fuel pressure, try checking your fuel filter. pull the line off the filter (line from the tank) stick it in a bucket and try (stand clear, mpfi pumps can produce 90psi unregulated). if you still get no fuel, its in the tank. you could have a split hose in the tank, or the rotor on the pump has melted, or the strainer is plugged.
can a fuel pump run but not pump any fuel
Did you try removing the filter and checking for flow as sharkey said?
If no flow then he said [if you still get no fuel, IT"S IN THE TANK. you could have a split hose in the tank, or the rotor on the pump has melted, or the strainer is plugged.]
Alont
checked everything like sharky said and all is fine
So are you saying you have a blockage in the fuel supply pipe to the engine bay?---or--is everything working!
Alont
ok theres no blockage everything looks good but still no fuel coming out
its not coming out where I disconnected the fuel filter but you can still hear the fuel pump run

While you are partially right, it's not a bad idea to have a toggle switch controlling the fuel pump. Makes it real easy to kill the motor if anything was to happen, and kills fuel flow instantly. It's a good thing if you ask me. If mine wasn't mechanical, you can guarantee it would be hooked to a toggle switch.

So, looks like it must be one of these three:-

ok I went out and rechwcked everything I pulled the end off the Fuel Filter and the gas barely trickled out
Do you mean you are checking for fuel flow after or before the filter. If after---
Can you remove the fuel filter, see if you get good flow then, which would mean the filter is blocked!
If not you may have to drop the tank

Another question, did you have the standard 10 amp Fuel Pump fuse in when this happened?
[somehow the fuel pump wire going into my fuse box got melted]
Alont
yea it was b4 the fuel filter and it had a 10 amp fuse
OK thanks
So hope for a split hose or a plugged strainer!
Good Luck
Alont
ok I took both the strainers off and put the unit bac in I turned the key on and it barely trickled again so Im guessing its the fuel pump
ok changed the fuel pump and still nothing
there is no clogged lines or anything like that and still no fuel to the fuel rail
I dont know what it could be Im ready to send it to the crushers
I mean the new motor only has 10,000 miles on it and the trannys about the same
anymore suggestions
take it to a shop...

So was it a new or used pump?
1. Does the replacement pump run?
2. Does the pump deliver fuel from the tank, into a container, if you disconnect the fuel pipe before the filter? and is the filter clean/new?
3.You are sure the fuel pipe from the filter to the rail is not pinched/blocked?
4. The fuel pump/sender connector C313 is the break the fuel pump connects to and should have 12 volts--Battery voltage Contact A1 (+12 volts) to A3 (Ground). The ground point is behind the drivers seat on the floor.
I mention this in case you are not getting the full 12 volts due to bad wiring or ground
This is a link to a replacement harness for the fuel pump:-

Hope some of this helps
Alont
pump is new
pump does run
and it does pump fuel into a container when hose is unplugged from the fuel filter
fuel filter is new the fuel feed line is fine its not pinched or blocked I even blew through it line and nothing came out except the fuel that was in the line to begin with
Anlot I really thank you for all your help
keep it coming
Can you make sure the fuel RETURN line to the tank is clear.
Disconnect at the engine and also at the fuel tank and then blow through in the reverse direction to normal i.e. front to back.
Just thinking if the return line is blocked or pinched you may be just compressing air? and has this been the problem all along!!
Repeat this with the fuel supply line, just as a second check.
Leave the return line DISCONNECTED at the fuel tank and reconnect everything else and put the open end of the return line in a container---the pump should pump fuel into the container (This will also check fuel can flow through the filter--I know it should--- but!!)
As for the help-- your'e welcome
We have to be nearly there
