2.0 turbo BOV and boost controller
Sunday, October 15, 2006 4:09 PM
I bought a greddy type RS bov and ive got a few questions

is this motor equipped with some kind of air recirculator valve.....(a stock BOV ) somewhere??

anyone able to provide details as to which air line is the ideal one to spile my BOV into ....(easiest too)

anyone able to show me a diagram of what i need to do to eliminate my stock boost solenoid with my turbosmart boost T........i need to know how all the airlines are connected without the stock boost solenoid....and WITH my BOV installed!

No, they do not have a BOV from the factory, and the boost control is done by that box like thing on the bottom of the intake via the computer.

Your BOV can be T'ed to any line coming from the intake manifold. Try to avoid the PCV line and the brake booster line. There is a pretty thick one on the back of the intake manifold that I used last season for my RFL. Now my SSQV BOVs are each hooked through Ports I drilled intake my new intake manifold.
Seriously, ALL it needs is an intake manifold vacuum source... any....
The wastegate is going to be a little more difficult. It is going to be hard to vent boost pressure on a single-port wastegate without running into spiking issues. Since you are venting the MAP (if I remember correctly) it is not a very good idea. Instead, lengthen your wastegate rod until you achieve your desired boost. Any of the 2.0 gods can intruct you on how to do so. Boost controllers are best used on wastegates with a port above and below the diaphragm. There are still ways to hook it up. If you don't like the wastegate idea, just PM me and I will tell you how to hook up the boost controller.

nice! thanx man....I always PM you but I never get a reply haha.........
I have the turbosmart boost T and I have it placed between my wastegate and my boost solenoid......it works fine.....but I want to know if there is any reason to eliminate the boost solenoid? I know it would have to remain plugged in.........theres a couple airlines that I have no idea what to do with..... and is the airline at the base of the map sensor the large airline that you can splice your BOV into? it leads to the back of the manifold...... how can I stay away from boost spike....would it be beneficial to have the boost T placed at the wastegate end or the solenoid end of the airline?

would you mind going on paint and doodling the airline setup for me anyone? hahaha

im a visual learner.....haha *

Sorry man, I just looked through my inbox and I don't have any PMs from you. Are you sure that you sent to me because I always check/reply to PMs.

I will see what I can dig up though. I used to have a complete engine vacuum diagram sheet.. you know.. back before I had more than 4 vacuum lines...
If I can find it I will scribble on it and scan it.
