Hi,
My car has 310,000kms and it drives like a rock pile. I am going to replace the front and rear shocks/struts. The car is stock. I just want the car to not hit as hard on bumps. Anyone have any tips/suggestions for some shocks that would smooth out my drive since the roads in my area are terrible?
Thanks
Also,
What price range should I be looking at, at a local shop for the parts only. Not labor, for the 2 front, and 2 rear shocks/struts?
Thanks
For cheap stock replacements, get Gabriels...took me like an hour to change out my rear shocks (old ones stayed compressed once i pulled em out) and I cant imagine it taking more than an hour to do the struts (re-using the old coils) and it is pretty much car repair 101...all you need is a ratchet, and some sockets (and a spring compressor for the struts)
price may vary man,i have 2 uniroyal shocks for the rear of my 90 bird, for 79 bucks, and i dont know how much you want to replace in the front but for the complete strut assemble i payed 340 for both monroe, and i never woulda thought that hitting train tracks at 170 kmls and not feel it was possable haha
i suggest monroe sensatrac struts and shocks, they have a lifetime waranty, and drive very well.
