I have the 1/2 height shutters over the headlights (amazingly enough, I got them working) and since its going to be warm the next couple of days and I have a 3-day weekend I thought I'd play around with doing SOMETHING in the way of a mod.
Anybody have any suggestions on what can be done to fill that ugly hole under the shutters when they are closed? Everything I can think of will screw up the lightings as its only 1/2 high (plexi), or be too flimsy (mesh)

I've been planning something similar. Maybe a flap that flips down when they open. I haven't played around with it too much, just thought about it.
I got to thinking along the same lines at work tonight.
Hinge the new piece at the top and run a 1/8th" or so 7/19 steel cable tru a couple of eyelets, and fixed to the actuator arm.
as the lid moves up and the arm back, it would raise and fold the lower (new) part of the shutter.
Now I just gotta screw around with the geometry to get it to move properly, AND find a way to make the parts so they look like they belong on a car instead of a tractor.
