hey everyone! i'm interested in doing an exhaust set up on my 93 cavalier rs (2.2l). i would love to find a header (but have been unable to), straight pipe (unable to find, at least that bolts up), and catback exhaust (found some 2.25 piping). any suggestions? if this has already been covered please direct me to the link and appologies to all if so. i did a search for "exhaust" and found nothing to my surprise. thanks in advance!

For catback I have 2.25" and a single dual-outlet APC muffler (no, it dont sound ricey. actually sounds (and feels) like the rumble out of an old musclecar just toned down a bit.

I went to the local auto wreckers to have the welding done, only cost me like 80 bucks for the install which was a WHOLE lot cheaper and easier than me buying a new welding rig.

Rice.....Part of a balanced Pontiac diet.

Hey, I have a 95 cav 2.2L and i have a 94 cav 2.2L the 94 would be identical to yours Well i had a pace setter header on the 95 and just blew the car up. so i put it on the 94 and it fit really good only thing was the oxygen sensor was right beside the sub frame "the 2 bars that look like skid plates on the bottom of the car under the engine" they have 2 bolts on the front and 2 on the back. well i have to take out the 2 bolts off the front of the passenger side sub frame and pull it down a hair to put the O2 sensor in then bolted it back on and it works great! sounds good to! Sorry for all the rambling on. but what i was getting to is if you get a header for a 95 2.2L it will work. it comes with the down pipe also and its all 2" pipe it comes with everything to the cat and even has the triangle clamp to bolt onto a cat!
hope this helps. you should be able to find one online if you cant find one anywere else. probably ebay would be a good place to look

THANK YOU!!!! i can't wait to try a header. i'll start shopping for an inexpensive header for a 95 2.2L. now all i need to find is a triangular pipe to replace the cat, and i'll be in business.

not sure if this will help you or not but everything from the 95 will work on the 93. the back pipe and muffler all bolt up the same and have the same exact bends in them.

Hey man I have the obx header off ebay for the 95-97 and it bolted right up and thats from the header to the cat, that was only like 190 and then you go to your local exhaust shop and have them run 2.25 cat back, i personaly have a flowmaster on mine. But I hope that helps!!

I don't know how you got a 3rd gen exhaust on a 2nd gen. Its been tried before, and it doesn't work.

Any header made for a 95-97 2.2 will fit fine (the only two available are the Pacesetter 4-1 and the OBX 4-2-1). If you're replacing the entire system, replace the cat with the CatCo direct fit. The part # is in the sticky at the top. If you don't want to have something custom bent, the 6cyl cat back will bolt right up, and its 2.25".

sweet, so i can get the 6 cyl cat back for my 93 2.2L. thanks everyone, i greatly appreciate your help. i think i'm gonna go with the obx, the 6 cyl cat back, and unfortunately shell out the money for a cat (was hoping to save a lil by going catless).
