Looking At Buying My Self A 93 Z24

buddy of mine is sellin a 93 z24 but its got a bit of a problem in the tranny, after its been driving for a bit the gears get a bit hard to shift and @!#$ (its a manual) and he was told its the shifter linkage) and also it needs a motor mount, how much money efford time am i looking at for replaceing such a thing? v6 5speed 93 z24 with 175000km for $800 what do you guys think? body is solid as hell.

Motor mount is most likely the front mount,.. it cost about $25 new and takes about an hour at the most to change..
as for the tranny.. it probably just needs the oil changed.. put syncromesh in it (you can buy it from autozone (penzoil syncromesh)) it takes about 2.5 quarts.
also oil up the shift cables good.

$800 for a v6 z24 5spd, i wish i could find one around here, personally i'd buy it just for the body being nice, but i'm like that.

I'd get it too. Really if it's a Z they'd ask about $2500 for it even with a bad tranny.
I'd try changing the fluid, make sure the cables for the shifter aren't binding. As for the mount they aren't hard to change.



If you are close I've got a different tranny for ya we could talk. I'd put it in mine but the body is rusty too bad too because it has alot of "toys" .
