my buddy just bought a 90 subird le convertable, 2.0l turbo 5 speed. it is leaking a lot of coolant from the back of the motor under the intake. we traced it down to a coolant pipe wich i beleive feeds the turbo (its about a 5/16" steel line). the pipe apears to be split close to the block, but its hard to see there. does this pipe press into the block, or whats the deal??? i didnt see any fittings, but again, hard to see down there. has anyone come across thios problem??? whats the best route to fixing it???
The pipes are threaded into fittings which are threaded into the block. I believe you can get a picture of the parts by using the parts catalog on gmpartsdirect.com.
IIRC, new pipes aren't too expensive. If you're really interested in DIY then you can get some steel tube make a replacement part. It's easier to do if you have a good tubing bender and some patience.
