Im readjusting my tv cable with directions form v6z24 and my haynes manual. i popped the hood took off my air cleaner and stared for about 20 minutes looking for this "readjusting tab" i couldnt find it. the pic in haynes is @!#$ty and probably from a different engine than my 2.0 ohc. can anyone help, maybe a pic or a crude paint rendering any help would be great.

were the cable clips into the bracket that holds it there is a fat part on the cable. this is the adjustment. push the tab in and you can adjust it.

why are you adjusting it??? if you havent made any changes to the tranny you shouldnt touch it.

Sharkey is right but you should push the button in, pull on the cable, release button and go press the gas pedal to the floor. You should hear a clicking sound when you push the pedal. That is how the newer cars are adjusted I forget if older cars are the same.

thats the way you get the adjustment close, but sometimes requires some fine tuning. making the cable tighter will make it shift later, looser will make it shift sooner. adjust it so it shifts fiarly close to redline at full throttle.
