Head gasket is soo easy to repair....basically you take off the bolts below the valve cover, remove the timing belt and coolant plumbing there, and pop it off...

If it is only the head that is cracked why are you pulling the block apart?

yeah, why are u pulling the block apart? the head sits on the block dude.....
yur right about the gasket price but thats a tiny fraction of the cost that it will take to get yur car back to decent running codition, u have to resurface the head at yur local machine shop or the problem is just gonna break more stuff over and over, and resurfacing takes a while and its not the cheapest. and you are goin to try to find a new head right??? dont put a broken part on a broken car. common sense.

ohh yeah, dont forget about an oil change (dont use generic oil, use synthetic), valve cover gasket, and gasket cealer, probly more stuff u will need but thats all i can think of right now. right there is about another 50-60 bucks if u go the right way. probly going to wanna change plugs and wires as well, while yur at it, do a full tune up

What i ment by "pulling the block apart" i have to take off the top end of the engine. isint a engine with the Cyl head on it called a long-block? none the less i still have to pul apart the Cyl-head from the Crankcase. 94 i got a replacement head sitting in my garage. gotta love conections!!!! its been shaved 3mm fo get a lottle more pop. its just the gasket going has given me an exuse to do my mod. and ill do my Glasspach install whyle my buddy vince is pulling the motor apart (he owes me for pullin the trans outa his 85 5thAve) so its all good.

Blue smoke is a somewhat common problem with turbo'd cars...

And yes, I did miss the part about the cracked block

my head is cracked too. A band new head from my work cost my $200. I am replacing every single top end gasket and installing a head shim so I can raise the boost. Awesome little car. I've only had it for 3 days.
