hello, ive dropped a 2.8 engine out of a 89 z-24 into my 91 cavalier, i got the computer wired up , all fuses are good, and everything, but now i cant any power back to my fuel pump, and ideas??? thanks
Need a little more info here, what motor was in the car before? how do you know the fuel pump isnt getting power, what happens when you crank it.
Is the car auto or stick? I know with each theres a switch were the car wont start if its not in park on an auto or if its a stick the clutch has to be pushed down, maybe you never got that swich wired up right.
Or maybe its something else thats not sending teh signal for the pump to turn on, I'm not sure how the v6's work but on the sunbirds the injector wont fire if its not getting a signal from the distributor to tell it to do so. Does the 2.8 you have got a distributor or coil packs?
need more info, and I'm not a v6 guy so I probobly couldnt help with the specifics anyways, lol
ight sorry bout the little description, the car had a 2.2 in it b4, its a five speed, after the swap, i have no power from the key to anything the starter, the fuel pump anything, the v-6 wiring harness came from an automatic, and i did by-pass the nuetral safety switch, but i get no power when the key is turned on, any ideas??/
Did you swap the wiring with the fusible links in?
Are they all OK
Just a thought
