I was driving around tonight and some guy on the road decided to reverse into me to see if he could push my car backward while I had my brakes on. He came on a little too fast and now the bar that spans between the bottom of the radiator to the top of the frame under the hood got punched in pretty bad to the point where the radiator leaks very badly. I have to put in 4L of water to do 20 mins of cruising (I know water isnt the best as it boils too easily but it's easy to access)
How much on average does a new radiator cost, how much does it cost to repair the frame that punched in the radiator? I dont want to take it to my insurance dealer because if it totals over $2500 they will write off my car, and this is my baby!
A) did you whoop his a$$ B) does he have insurence. and C) there really not that expensive... but I'd collect the money and put a kit on it if you want. its a good time to start modifing it.
**changes are here**
Okay, then I'd need a beater car until I can get it fixed. Plus I dont have a job so thats a lot of collecting... lol
Go to a junkyard and get a radiator off a car there...
Never bought a radiator for my J but I just got one for my jeep, brand new for 120 bucks. Its a lot bigger than a Js radiator, It shouldn't take more than one day of work, depending on the body damage probably only an hour or two. You may be able to get a rental car from his insurance, get his info and make the call.

mine was $114 at interstate auto.
Ive thought about ditching that ugly honeycomb radiator and replacing it with like 2 tranny coolers stacked on top of each other...
