I want to put a 2.0 motor from a 1994 sunbird into a 1991 sunbird that has a 3.1. I'm pretty sure that if I drop the entire front end assembly and swap the two than it would work, but not positive. Has anyone done this before? I do know that I would have to change the entire wiring harness and the ecm. Appreciate any help of info
dude you would have to do the same if you wrer doing a 2.0 to a 3.1 swich out everything. ECM, harness and EXT. just put in a new 3.1 or 3X00 hybrid
Yeah why would you want to go from a good motor to a weak piece of SH*T
I thought I would get that response about using a 4cylinder, instead of a 3.1. The only reason I'm using the 2.0 is it only has 45k miles on it, and I'm only making this into a daily driver. The car with the 3.1 dosen't run anyways, they think it has a blown head gasket, and it's been sitting for awhile. But I do have to agree that the 4 cylinder is a weak motor when compared to the 2.8 and 3.1. I've got a 2.8 in my berreta, and a 3.1 in my garage for my Z24. BIG difference between the two. Thanks for the help though.
if the mounts look the same then the motors should swap right in, but i don't know the ohc
