hey im a noob here, but i have a quick question. i searched for a while but i couldnt find anything on this subject. i was just wondering if any of you have tried ATF in your 5spd tranny. i did it on my last car (91 eagle talon) and it showed a huge improvement over gear oil. wondering if it has been the same for anyone else here.

use syncromesh, its the best stuff for 5 speeds.
All this ATF and Synchromesh is a load of crap. I run 80w90 in my tranny, and it shifts great unless the car's cold and its -10 outside.
Mobile sythetic 20w50 seems to work good in sunfires, don't know about 2nd gens.
syncromesh has additives in it that make your syncros last longer... yes you could fill your trans up with vegatible oil and it'd shift fine, that doesnt mean it will last.
I agree with the Syncromesh.
i use sycromesh aswell, its expensive but if other people head out to GM to buy it knowing its the best and use it in the there hondas, dodges and @!#$ i dont see why u should skimp out and buy cheap @!#$,like how often do u need tranny fluid, spend the $10/litre on it

thats a good call there.
as far as the atf not being good for your tranny, my talon has 251,xxx miles on the original tranny with atf being used most of its life.
