Is the 3T40 in my 94' RS computer or vaccum controlled? I've got a friend with a 92' Lumina who wants to buy the trans out of my RS to put into his Lumina, which came with a vaccum controlled tranny. His blew up and I'd like to help him save a few bucks(I had my 3T40 recently rebuilt)...besides..I'm getting tired of throwing money at my 94' for small, nickel & dime piddling stuff..right now, it's down with a blown headgasket.

The 3T40 is not computer controlled. GM added an "E" to the end of all its electronic transmission (or most of them anyways) for example- 4T40E.

Yes, your trans will work for your friend, but the valve body is different between the 2.2 and 3.1, so the shift points will be different.
