would boreing and stroking my motor out make any diffence in the lvls of psi i could run? i know it would make my motor get hotter quicker but im planning on putting in a v6 radiator and evenutally an intercooler.

I wouldn't bother boring and stroking the motor if I were you. If anything, you could make the motor be able to handle lower amounts of boost due to the inherit weakening of the motor that comes along with boring and stroking it.
Ohh, and I don't know about you guys, but on my old 88 and 89 Sunbird GTs, the radiator was as big as the V6 one stock.

Also, when you stroke a motor it revs up slower and you get a little more lag.
91 Cav, I've heard of rads oin the 2.0 turbos like yours but nobody said they existed. Is your rad aluminum and double core? I heard about a rad like that once but couldnt find anything on it.

I swapped the radiator form my 88 Sunbird GT into my old 91 Cavalier. It was infact a double row radiator, I just can't remember if it had aluminum or plastic end tanks.

That is for an NA 4 cylinder. The turbo 4 cylinders have the bigger radiators.

Our NA 4cyc car has a bigger rad then the turbo 4cyc. Both with medal side tanks the NA 4cyc is a 2 core rad. We do have a v6 rad and it is bigger then the other 2 thou but has plastic side tanks.

I just noticed a screw up in my FAQ it says the heads are diffrent between the NA and turbo motors, but I wrote it a while ago when that was still a debated topic, I found out the heads are the same, its just the pistons that lower the compression. And I was also told my quite a few people that the 2.0 turbo has close to 200 hp stock an was under reted for insurance reasons, I dont know much about drag racing, but someone told me 165 hp cant run what a sunbird runs stock in the 1/4 mile (I forget what it was) and all the estimates I've heard have been around 200, Anyone ever dynoed a "stock" 2.0 turbo?

Theres lots of things to make you go faster, most of the main ones are listed in the FAQ but whats cheap to you? You could get a T-3 turbo and a T-3 flange and weld the flange to your turbo manifold and bolton the T-3 turbo, you might have to re route your piopeing a little but it would be a big upgrade over stock, and can be done pretty cheap depending on were you get the parts from and if you or someone you know has a welder and can weld.
One of the things I'm working on for my car right now is propane injection, it can be done relativly cheap if you have a good source for parts
Propane injection dosent work like NOS or anything like that, its just a higher octane than the highest grade gas you can get at the pump (its around 110) so you can run more boost with propane injection and not have to worry about detonation, also you can run the lowest octane gas on a turbo motor with high boost and not have to worry about detonation either, so it makes you car more fuel efficient and you can buy the cheap stuff if you want to.
Theres a million things you can do to make your car go faster, if you look around thjis site I'm sure you'll find lots of other ways and probobly cheaper ones than whgat I just mentioned, cause those arent the cvheapest ones in the world

i love the T3 idea, but i thought propane injection was for diesels?? and if u run water injection can u run propane also?
and 2 check how much psi u can run, u need a check valve, correct?
o ya 1 more question.. lol srry about that. but wat is the best turbo for a 2.0 turbo, in ur opinion
You can run water injection and propane injection I've heard propane cools the cylinders down just like water does, but I'm not sure how true that is, I plan on running water and propane on my car when I get the LT3 in. water also cleans the carbon and other crap out of the engine so I think water is good to have as well.

to check how much psi your running you need a boost guage, there are two kinds of check valves theres just a solid unit made for stopping air or something from going in the opposite direction in the hose, and theres a adjustable kind which can be used as a manual boost conrtoler or grainger (sp?) valve, and by adjusting it you can control the boost you turbo puts out.
By the way the boost controller goes in line with the hose that goes into your waste gate.

thanks for the info, but on the question that i lost u on, i meant do u use a check valve to see how much boost ur car will see before it hits the ECM. and wats a LT3, isnt that just a 2.0 turbo?
When I said your last post I meant your second last post caus eyou posted as I was answering, lol
The plastic concealed (sp?) check valves are the ones you put before the MAP sensor to stop the ECM from seeing too much boost, the adjustable ones (I think theres a link in the FAQ for a site on how to make them) are for controlling boost, there better known as grainger (sp?) valves.
If you decide to put a check valve or two befor ethe MAP sensor, remember not to put them inline, you put a little T in the line to the MAP sensor and connect a check valve to to bottom of the T.

I noticed a error in my first post, I found out the info a while ago but never noticed I put it wrong in my FAQ. In the first paragraph it says the 2.0 OHC began production in the sunbird in 1982. Thats not true in 1982 every J came with the 2.0 OHV then in 1983 the 2.0 OHC was introduced into the sunbird.
I also noticed quite a few 2.0 questions comming up in the forum and most of the answers are in here but nobodys reading it, so back up to the top
A couple things.
I heard that the MPFI came with smaller valves than the TBI & Turbo models.
The 5-speed tranny for the 2.0L are NOT Getrag...there was a post on V6Z24 on this.
Apparently they are ISUZU trannys.
...that's just what I heard.

Any specs of the 16V cams? Are they good for boost?

I also heard about the valves being smaller but never found any proof, all the specs I could find said there the same, I'm not saying the arent smaller just nobody has proven they are.
What 2.0 are you talking about that dosent have a getrag? the turbo or NA? I know the NA has the Izuzu and I'm pretty sure the turbo 2.0s came with getrags......do you have a link to the thread?
I dont have any specs on the 16v motors, but I know all the diffences it has between the 8v versions, the 16v motors came NA as well and other than the hole top end being the obvious diffrence the pistons are also diffrent, there cut so the valves dont hit them. The 16v motors also came with a 6-speed manual AWD trans, I'd love to get a hold of one of those

I know the bolt pattern for the V6 Getrag down match the 2.0L 5-Speed trannys. And the Izuzu trannies seems identical for N/A and Turbo 2.0LOHC
The smaller valve thing I haven't found any proof of. I have only seen TBI and Turbo heads...no N/A MPFI heads.
One thing is for sure...octane does make a huge performance difference in these motors. I ran a 16.3-16.4 in my 3-Speed auto turbobird Stock...with 91 octane.
I put in 10 bucks of racing gas and was running 15.9's all day.
