my 86 convert able idles fine, but when I give it gas it falls flat and back fires through the throttle body. If I feather it it will start pulling hard if I can get the reves up. The tack read really high to.
dont trust the tach, they are always inacurate. id lean towards a fueling problem. change the filter, check the fuel pressure. id also check the timing.
