The Calais was the pace car in 1985. In 1986 it was the Corvette.
Maybe it's a Calais with Cavalier badges or a Cavalier trying to look like a Calais?
It's one of two things:
1: Complete fake; fake decals on an otherwise normal convertible.
2: It's not a "Pace Car" but rather an "official car", used in pre-race festivities or other promotional duties (Indy 500 Festival Parade...huge, if you've never been to Indy in May). Since it's a convertible, this is entirely possible.

I don't think it is a calais but it does not say pace car, but official car. I wonder how much it'll go for.
I see this car is being sold at Mecum's high performance auction. Perhaps I'm missing the "high performance" part in this vehicle...
I dig the 80's fog lamps in the front bumper.
The door clearly does not say "Official Pace Car" as a PAce Car would. This is the equivalent of the golf cart used at your local track to carry officials around.
