Im picking up an 82 Cav (carbed) on saturday, Im going to attempt to drive it home (1 hour drive). It has 1/2 a tank of old gas (5 years) Im going to fill it with some high octane stuff so it should be 1/2 really good gas, but is there anything else I should look for that might have gone to hell after 5 years of sitting.
coolant, tranny fluid, steering fluid if it has ps, brake fluid, check the tires, check for dents(take them into account before you take over the car), check the muffler if its properly secured, check the door hinges, look inside the trunk
What body style is this 82 Cav? I have a hatchback. It has been surprisingly good to me, with only a bad heater fan and spark plugs since last October.
