Hi everyone. I wanted to show you all a pic of my 82 Pontiac J2000. It is fairly solid with a minimum amount of rust and it is a 4 door. It has the 1.8 OHV enging and a (Yawn!!) automatic tranny. It has all of 68,000 miles on it right now.
It is a daily driver, and the only things I have done different to it are tinting the windows, and adding a CD Stereo, and 6x9 speakers in the back. Also added new cheapie tires for now. I think that some 14" wheels are in my future with 205/70/14 tires.
I would really like to make this car a standard shift, and am wondering what trannys work with the engine in my car. Im not afraid of working on it, but would like to know if anyone has done the same thing? I won't swap out the motor though, it runs way too good. I am not looking to hot rod this car, just looking to be able to shift my own gears.
I plan on keeping this car a long time.
Heres a link to my cars webpage, in case my pic does not work.
Take care.
Al
