i got a 86 sunbird GT vert
ok right now my top will go down but wont go all the way up anymore. it slowly got wors and now i manualy put it up and down. my question is could this be caused by low fluid? and if so where do you add more?

dont know about the fluid thing, but maybe the motor is going?

Sounds like you may either be low on fluid or have a leak in the system...or the motor is going.

You can get access to the motor, hoses, etc by taking the front trim panel out of the trunk, or by removing the rear seat. Either way. As far as the process of filling the system...I don't know about that I've never touched mine. (knock on wood).

A factory shop manual would help you a great deal. I have one at the house and I'll look for you this afternoon.

yea i pulled the panel off in the trunk to see if it was a bad connection or something. thats also how i got it to manual mode but thats bout all the info i got from my manual and the book i got at the auto store. i tried fallowing the lines but i cant find a spot to add fluid. my buddy had a boat that the prop wouldn't come up till he added more fluid so im hoping thats just my problem.
