Does anyone know if the engine and 5-speed tranny out of a '91 cavy can be put into a '86 cavy. My '86 has the 2.0L 3-speed auto in it now. It looks like the 2.2L and 5-speed tranny will bolt right into the '86.
honestly, why bother with it. it requires a lot of work for a small amount of more power. id consider a 3.1l or 3400. the 3.1l is just as much work as the 2.2l, and you will have 30 more hp and a ton more torque. the 3400 is a bit more work than the 3.1l, (not much though) and you will be rewarded with 180hp and a ton of torque.
I figured I have a complete, running doner car so why not. I'm not out for perfermance, I just need my '86 on the road again.
