ok i found this searching around and to me it looks like a turbo intake man. and head on a non turbo engine. i'm thinking that cus last i herd a turbo engine would run like crap without the turbo. so i wouldn't understand why you would remove the turbo.
so if i'm correct thinking its a non turbo engine with a turbo intake and head would there be any gain in doing that?
btw i would ask the owner if i knew who it was but i don't
It looks like it may be one of the NA MPFI 2.0s, what year is the car? I did bypass the turbo on my car when I rebuilt my engine before I bought a turbo. The 2.0 turbo engines have a low compression 8.5 to 1 I think because they're supposed to run boosted. They run like crap without a turbo believe me. For me it was a temporary fix ( my intake was an old filter, radiator hose, foam, cardboard and duct tape lol) until I got my turbo on.

i beleive it was 92 when they had the 2.0l multiport efi na motor. that car is at least a 92 because it has abs on it.
Thats the stock 2.0l in all 92-94 4cyl sunbirds
Yeah they came factory like that, notice the intake says "Multiport FI" on it not "turbo" and there would be no advantage at all to putting a turbo head on a NA motor with out the turbo cause the heads are the same, the pistons are what drops the compression ratio from 8.8:1 (9.2:1 on factroy MPFI cars) to 8.0:1 is the pistons and the head never changed just the intake manifolds and wireing.
its all in my faq here:

You would get MPFI if you had a TBI 2.0 though if you just swapped the intake system that would give it a little shot in the arm, course you'd have to swap the harness and ECM too.

Yeah, you could do that and it would work but for some reason the factroy upped the comp ratio in the MPFI cars to 9.2:1 and it was only 8.8:1 in the TBI cars and I'm pretty sure it was like that for the carburated cars as well. But if your going through all the work of swaping to MPFI, changing harness erc.. Why not just swap a turbo motor?
^^ true but people have done weirder things ya know

lol, yeah I bet.
My friend before I knew him had a 2.0 turbo sunbird convert and he blew up the turbo so he swaped on a NA exhaust manifold and wasnt happy with the performance of it after that, cause he still had the low comp pistons in it so he sold the car and thought the NA 2.0's were the slowest thing ever for a long time until I told him what he'd done, lol
