Do first gens use the same engine mounts as 2nd gens?
On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.
Pretty sure they do. I have swapped over the trans mount from 2nd to 1st gen, but the engine mounts & dogbone look the same also.
• 86 Skyhawk wagon : 2.0SOHC swap, Megasquirt, 20SEH cam
• 93 Sunbird sedan : 2.0SOHC, Microsquirt, ported head, 10:1
• 88 Sunbird coupe : 2.0SOHC, turbo project car, giant tires
Rockauto shows the same part numbers for the 88 and the 85 for all their mounts. I didn't check the dog bone though.
I started a very small group buy for solid poly mounts over on v6z24.com if anyone is interested. I will make them any hardness you want and they should outlast the stock mounts if not the car. My new aftermarket mounts only lasted a year and that is unacceptable.
