Hello guys,i wish to install the fiberglass side skirts
on my 1987 convertible.
But it wont fit because it seem like the rockers are bigger than the non-convertible rockers.
I know that some of you installed thoses ground effect skirts on theirs convertible.
Do you have to cut the bottom half of the skirts to fix them in place ????
Thanks
Alain
Never tried to place side skirts. Looked at my 1986 RS Convt. Looks like a reinforcement added to the rocker below the trim piece. Think you would need to trim the bottom off to fit the rocker. I would NOT remove the reinforcemcent on the rocker. Hope this helps.
Thanks Ken,
i think that i will leave the side skirt for a futur project.

I did this whole swap(convertible to '87 Z24 clone) back in '05. I cut the bottom of the skirts, and mounted them using some brackets I fabricated that fit inside the top lip,as well as the surface mounted screws. it all fit pretty well, and hides most of the reinforcement bars.
oups ! interesting.
Did you drill throu the rockers to fix your bracket?
I hesitate a little to drill the rocker.......They are the main structure of the convertible.
I dont want to weak them.
