Batten down them hatches!
Wayne- what option codes were these? :-)
All buttoned down here in north Jersey! The Z hatch gets treated to a rare stay in the garage and my daily driver gets to sit in the driveway (better seals)

Well I guess nc got fortunate in the hard stuff, but dang the wind is stupid strong.Sunday I had to go all the way to DC with a load literally right across from the pentagon. All was fine going up and back to where I layed over in south hill ,va.Now today I got back did two stores local and fine, but went over to raleigh area(our capitol) and man coming back the wind was shaking my big truck like a washing machine.Tomm or today will be my last day to work (4th day ) and hope no bs slows it up.I am just worn out bad sleep at hotel, long 14 hr day and can't even think straight.I am chilling with some kool aid(strong) after two rough days.Hope all is well further north and done.
Wayne, looks like you are smack dab in the middle of the mess about now. Hope you and yours are doing OK. Try and take a few photos after all is said and done for us if you are able to.
Ron, glad you are off the roads at least for a sort spell....those winds can blow a rig all over the place like a great big play toy!! It is a shame the dispatcher can't have enough common since to hold off a little during a real disaster like this. The potential loss of you and your rig would surely mean lots of lost deliveries once the winds go away!! I guess businesses only think about the profits though.
All seems pretty well our way. Will be stepping out to work here in a few. The winds aren't howling , no snow, no rain - all good stuff!! Oh yeah - glad to have ELECTRICITY!!
Here is my window seal and convertible top seal. Just a little bigger. The Cover-It portable garage has a plywood base with the frame bolted to it and the Blue Cav inside for weight (just glad we didn't get any real high winds as the cover probably would have shredded). And the Brown Cav has the car cover with the tarp for water proofing the the top. Oh yeah not much damage here in northern Mass. But I still have no power going on 24 Hrs.
Thanks orlen for your concerns.I know my hands were sweating last night driving back and even loaded with salvage (cardboard bales, milkcrates and pallets) that helped.I was def tired and and just saying less than a hour to park the big truck.I made it and the highway was dead and a good thing. The wind gust were stupid strong like 30mph or more and I really hate those conditions.Today was more subtle and sunshine and a trip to fredricksburg va and back and fine. Now John I just bought me a brand new waterproof cover for my civic!!! I bought it at walmart and NEW item they sell by budge (the brand) and may suggest buying one bc it is waterproof!!! for 68.00 a real buy and worth it.I did have it on the car last wk but, being I drive the civic to work had to yank it off,so no test run on the dry factor but,I know the fabric on these water proof covers bc my truck sits outside and has the same cover however more cost bc longer. It does work and do use bungee cords to keep it tight and my truck stays dry since last year when I bought it.I am done and got the tired kicking me long four days of trkg and a virus kicked me last night, sore throat and sinus @#$$% errr.Just loaded up with some heavy koolaid for sleeping and OFF work the next three days.Hope to shake this virus with sleep, vitamins and texas pete hot sauce so I can breathe.Tired is a understatement.
Unfortunately the high winds we got Monday night in NW Ohio ruined the car cover on my Monte & Cavalier
, 4 destroyed this year due to high winds and no money to replace them again so it looks like they will be in the elements all winter.
Glad your ok Ron, up here they shut the turnpike down to Trucks/RV's for 24hrs till the winds died down. Prayers and good luck to the others that got the worst.
