Just a little rustoleum and a brush

Well, the old man's wallet is empty, so when I have those weekends, I pull down the Rustoleum and do some preventative maintenance.
Come August, I'll be celebrating this old wagon's 10th year with me. Heck, a lot of marriages don't last that long these days!!
The past 5 years or so I've sprayed and brushed more paint on this old workhorse than anything I've ever had. While it isn't the prettiest J-Body on here ( or the fastest!!Slick Vic), it sure has seen me through a lot of rainy days and winters - and still carries me to work more days than not. I guess all I can say is anything I do to this ole gal can only be an improvement!! I finally got the delay wiper motor and controls installed a couple of weeks ago, and it sure is nice to NOT have to turn on - turn off - turn on - turn off....LoL - sure have had to do a lot of that over all these years.

So here is a few photos of just ordinary stuff on an ordinary old wagon.

... from the shock out i never realized how similar first and third gens were.

you guys realize the saturn rear disk swap would be cake for you guys too right? i have a 96 and that brake setup (minus my abs sensor which is in the hub) look IDENTICAL. we're talking bolt-on rear disks. only issues is guyr sunning factory wheels, i know they're 13"s, and you need 16" to clear.

on to the OP...

CLEAN first gens you have bro. they look better than my 96, and that's no joke. i started with a 2nd gen, and lust after a 1st gen hatch.

The bearing bolt pattern is the same for all years and models. 82-05. First gens can even swap to 92-05 front brakes with a simple strut swap. All good stuff.

That's interesting What else is swappable from the 3rd gens?

When you find 2 let me know!!! Looking for another one..and a coupe too..the hatch i would like the body to be in good shape, ie doors, trims etc. The coupe just the front can be damaged, frame twisted whatever..just want the body!

Just a twisted thought, there, Slick Vic....

Why not build up an old 1st gen wagon. Definitely would be different!! You might have enough real estate behind the front seats to mount the drive train in the rear. Maybe run a FWD setup driving the rear wheels - Seville drivetrain comes to mind.

You can tell I'm not a drag car man. Can't ya....LoL

I want the hatch for parts, i want the coupe so i can cut the roof off and make a roadster out of it...left hand steer..flat panel over where the passenger would sit. Just a roll cage sticking out. Heres a link to a pic of a third gen roadster.

Gosh, you really could have used that chop top the Fire Dept got a hold of. Unfortunately, it is in South Western Virginia. Shame the two of you couldn't have gotten together. Been a dignified end to that mangled coupe!
