Basically I am wondering if the heads interchange. I am looking at another Sunbird which has a Turbo but also a bad head gasket.
Bad head gasket, to me also means warped head.

Is the engine the same or are Turbo block's different?

My Sunbird is so rusted, it really isn't worth the time and effort to repair....again.

I figured I'd strip my old car down of every part that is good, including the engine and trans, before sending it to China to be recycled into cheap iron.

The blocks are the same, with the exception of the oil drain back for the turbo. Small items such as oil feed lines can be swapped between engines.

Turbo engines have lower compression ratios, but this is accomplished thru a dished piston which is forged on the turbos, cast on non-turbos.

Heads are the same, but the camshafts are different. Intake-exhaust manifolds are also different.

Naturally the engine management system-injectors will be different from non-turbo engines.
