So, the Hot Rod Power Tour is in town...
I pulled into a car show for some "Power Parking". I was driving slow(2 MPH) when there was a sound from the front of the car. Sounded like a gate on a fence that had not been used in years. I have new brake hardware. Any thoughts to what it could be - wheel bearing?
Did I mention this was in my 84 Sunbird?
Paul I will take a wild guess and say maybe it was the spring on the struts.Wheel bearing make noise all the time not like what u described.Could be the springs metal on metal and thats what comes to mind right off after drinking a few cold ones to chill.U can simply jack up one side on the front end rotate the tire/whl and listen to see if the bearing is toast.Second push down on the front end both sides if it bounces back more than 1 time u need new struts. This suspension chk is rule of thumb and goes the same for rear.My two dollars worth right now.R
For starters, my outboard pads are dragging as the retainers are not bent over far enough.
After I fix that, we will see...
