Well, how did you get around the clutch start safety switch which is on the interior wiring harness and attached to the clutch pedal like a brake light sensor?

I have the entire car wiring harness from a 2003 cavalier sedan with an automatic trans and no ABS. On the trans there is only the VSS and reverse light switch to my knowledge which are attached to the engine wiring harness. Without the start safety switch the car will not start. So i am under the assumption i need that wiring harness which is all under the dash.

well i have to go look but i kinda rigged it up but it worked perfectly and it will only let u start it with the clutch pedal engaged. Wut i did i beleive, ill have to check for sure, But i ran the 2 wires from the clutch saftey switch out to the starter where theres the purple wire. Cut the purple wire in half and strip both ends, Now take one wire from the css and splice it on one end then the other wire to the other end of the purple wire and there u have a functional css. Because unless u have the pedal down the circuit isnt contacting so it will not start til it is engaged and as far as the reverse light if u have a wiring harness form a 5 speed engine u will not need to do anything with that mine all worked like i said and the first thing i told you how to do is the only special thing ihad to do.

Well i found one from a 2004 Pontiac sunfire manual trans this morning in Tennessee for $125 shipped. So i shouldn't have to do that even though i thought about that and wasn't sure if that would work or not. I'm trying to make this as clean as possible.
