Does anyone know any shops who do good fiberglass work near Pittsburgh that don't charge out the a$$?
I am looking to make my whiteboys hood functional, and want a piece cut out & mesh put in & painted.
theres no such thing unfortunately. quality costs $, and supplies arent cheap. not to mention time involved.
which hood, and what exactly do you want done? pics? im in buffalo, but may be able to help you out
Well I would tend to agree with you, although usually materials cost is pretty insignifigant, especially considering I am removing. Just some fit & finish around the cut area should be needed. The only pic I have readily available on a cavalier is this one....it is about the size of a postage stamp, and is NOT my car....
Basically I wanted to cut out the rear area of the "scoop" to let as much heat out as possible, and put some nice mesh to block leaves falling into it or anything. It is going to be a cut about 2-3" high, by about 10" wide. Nothing major. I was going to do it myself, but I just don't have the time anymore.
Oh, and it is the Whiteboys Invader hood w/ evil eyes incase you could not tell from my 1" picture
ok, thats not a big deal at all then
what color does it need to be painted?

becareful if you do this. your gonna have to do something as far as draining the water somewhere once you have a hole in the hood. when i had an extractor hood which is very similair to the one you have, i had pockets under my vents to devert the water away from the engine so it wouldnt land directly on it.
Good point....this basically is an extractor hood...do you have pictures of your "pockets"?
nah i never had any pics of the underside of the hood sorry.
why not?? doesn't everyone take pictures of the inside of the hood? So basically to keep cold nasty rain water off the engine I just need to put some kind of diverters under where I am cutting....is that basically the priciple?
Oh and Joey, it is black.
