Search for the manual o2 sim if you still have a rear o2 bung. Ive done it on a few friends cars and it worked fine and took care of the cel.
why not just disconnect your battery right before you take the car in?
that's what i did for my cavalier in PA. it takes a bit for the car to throw a code again once it's cleared.
because that clears the OBD readiness
