computer issue? what's wrong with it?

I have not had time to mess with it. I broke up with the girl (4 Year relationship) and had bought her a new car (GMC Jimmy). We broke up and the car needed to be sold so being the overnice person I am I am selling it. The car was running great and sat for about two weeks, had a person coming to buy it for 2200$ and went to fire it up ran fine. went for a spin and no advance it seemed. Got my SnapOn scan tool and tried hooking it up, no reading, no power. So I was thinking bad computer. I replaced the computer and still nothing, so I am thinking bad power or ground.
You may ask, why not fix it and sell it for more, truth is I dont really get along with the girl and have no ambition to fix it. For more records just email me, the parts in the motor are all delco quality parts, no cheap remans. It is currently 22 degrees outside, I have no place to work on the car and no ambition, my loss is your gain. Fix the issue and flip it.

its not a bad computer...Most likely your snapon tool wont read or power up because your cigarette lighter fuse is blown. My check engine light was on a couple weeks ago and i pulled it in the shop to hook up the tech2 and no reading, and it is because the cig fuse was blown...hope this may help.
Why would the cig lighter affect it? The cigarette lighter fuse would not make the car run like crap. It is OBD-2 so no power source is needed except through the plug.

it wouldnt make it run like crap, but if the fuse was blown, whatever scan tool you are trying to use will not power up, unless it has an internal battery. I may be comprehending your problem wrong, but I just had a problem where i plugged in a matco scan tool and it wouldnt read the codes and then tried plugging in Gm's Tech2 and that wouldnt power up, because the cig fuse was blown.

I have explained the issues with the car in other posts. Basically I thought the computer was bad because when I plugged in the scan tool I got no reading. So i assumed bad computer and I replaced it. Then it did not run at all and thats where I am at. So it is likely the computer was fine it was probably a code in the computer which made it run weird. I have the old computer but dont care to fix the problem which explains the low price. Also the tranny has a grind in third if you go fast into it, if you just drop it in its cool. The car drove great otherwise, excellent highway car. Body has 134K on it, engine roughly 75K and tranny 75K.
