I have a jetski I'm trying to sell unfortunately it has a Non-Transferable registration. Does anyone know if / how I can get a transferable registration? I went to the DMV and they had to call Albany to "check my records" to see if I could get the transferable reg, but I never ended up hearing back from Albany who was supposed to call me. I'd just like to know if anyone else has had this problem and knows what to do. I looked forever online and couldn't find anything, Thanks!!!!!

non-transferable?? was it wrecked or something? that seems odd, since pretty much any vehicle/motor propelled vessel should be transferable unless it was wrecked or stolen, etc

dude it could take up to if not longer than 3 months to hear back from them asshats.. took me 5 months to hear back from them

They were "supposed" to call me within 2 days. Its been a month. I'm going to go back to the DMV this week but I don't even think they can help me. I had the jetski sold too, for more than my asking price.

do u know the reason why there is a non-transferable title? are you the original owner?

No, I have no idea and I never even knew it until now. I bought it from a guy in PA last fall.

I've been lookin for a jetski actually.... file for a lost title for $XX amount of dollars, then go that route. If it has been in your possension for a certain amount of time on your property its yours. Ask them about that, it might be easier.

Hmmm, so then would I just cancel the registration and the buyer could get his own registration? Thing is, I don't believe jetski's have titles. I didn't get one when I bought it and the DMV told me jetski's dont need titles..

if you bought it from someone else it must be transferable somewhere.
