Central PA Body shops
Thursday, May 31, 2007 10:43 AM
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good body shops, or possibly .org members that could help with fitment of my body kit. I got the rear bumper installed and it sinks in one spot and the part behind the drivers side wheel wont stay flush. Im located In Lock Haven PA, 17745. This is my first shot at putting a kit on, so Im not too experienced in it, but even any suggestions would be appriciated. Thanks!!

self tapping screws work wonders....

that rear doesnt LOOK like it's sagging, it looks like it's got a dip in it and will need glassed over.

K, I will have to try the screws then, as for the dip, well when i put it on it kinda bowed when the trunk was open, but when i closed it it got that dip in it, now its there no matter if the trunk is open or closed, it still bows up a little when it is open though. First, if i glass over it should I put in some filler then fiberglass?? Or will the matt/cloth keep shape without the filler?? Also since it bows up a little, then the trunk pushes it down when closed will that affect filler if i use it?? And last for reference, what would be best to use for this and other projects, fiberglass cloth or mat?? Sorry for all the ?'s but im new like i said, and i really enjoy learning to do this! Thanks!!

To answer that question properly, someone would actually have to see "in action" what you're talking about. I spent 5+ years in auto body/paint... if you don't mind a road trip I could look at it and give you some tips. Let me know. Glen Rock, PA 17327 area

it's folding out when you close the trunk, but when the trunk is open it's okay? ?

Are you sure the bumper is on right? did you have to trim the foam that was underneath the stock one?

Yeah i did trim the impact absorber some to get the bumper to fit. As for it folding, when i first put it on, it was bowed the center of the bumper went up about 2 or 2.5 inches, then when i closed it the trunk lid pushed down on it where it was bowed and then it got that little dip. Now when I open the trunk it doesn't bow up it stays how it looks in picture.

The kit is fiberglass. I talked to Fallen Angel and she is going to give me some advice in person, so it should be taken care of Thanks for the help though
