I just did the KBB an hour ago and my price is accurate. Looks like I forgot to mention it was an auto. That puts the value up.

Not to sound like an ass but they are selling fully boosted J' s that are modded to all hell for 7-8k and you want to sell a near stock sunfire with low mileage for 10k firm. I would rather take a car with 45k boosted then a stock car with 28k. I would say you may get 6k for it if that

You know, I thought I would give some respect to the community, but it seems like everyone on here is a jackass!!!!!!! You can all go to hell. This community is the least supportive to members who are not regulars. Someone will buy this car. And yeah, you might be able to buy a boosted J for 7-8k, but how long will it last? If it wasn't done right, you'll have a lawn ornament the first time you run it!! At least with a stock car with low mileage you know what you're getting. And to say that I'll only get 6k is obsurd, I WON'T get any less then 8k for this car, but I expect to get at least 10k for it. I listed the car for sale on here hoping that word would spread and someone might be interested, but this response is not what I thought would happen. I hope the org closes my account after this, because I no longer want to be a part of a forum that has jackass's for members.

I don't agree with any of that. ^^ You are comparing a modded car to a completely stock car. People part their cars out to get more money for them because typically people don't want to buy cars that are modded. Hes gonna get more for his car than almost any boosted J with 45k miles, period. Although he prob won't get 10k, his car is for sure worth more than a "modded to all hell" J body... If these people said his car is bluebooked around 8k what makes you think he will get 6k? Blue book value is based off of what cars are selling for in that area.

You might want to tone down your attitude a bit. They're right, you're wrong. Period. $10K is WAY too much to ask for that car, and you're foolish if you think its condition makes any difference.

Good luck getting something close to that, but don't get your hopes up.

"Respect other members. Everyone has their own tastes, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how wrong it is. Some people will have negative opinions towards topics, pictures and the like. They are entitled to those opinions. Likewise, if you don't think highly of something, be considerate when expressing such opinions.

I thought that was a rule on this forum, it comes straight from the forum rules. I have seen less examples of this then ever on this forum. There is a total lack of respect for other's opinions on this site! And I just want to thank the forum moderator for the forum warning I just recieved for voicing my opinion in response to the disrespect this forum has for anyone who doesn't have a fully modded j-body.

Here's the deal... the ONLY one in this thread that was disrespectful toward anyone was YOU. Once again, they're right, you're wrong, and there's not a thing you can do about that. Calling us jackasses for pointing out facts only makes you look like an ass. KBB has your car at the mid to high 8's WITH an automatic, WITH low mileage and taking it's condition in to account.

If you can't accept that, and the fact that people are willing to point that out to you, then maybe you SHOULD leave. People here will be brutally honest with you, and there's no rule against that. YOU are the one that came out on the attack, name-calling and crying like a schoolgirl when your price got "insulted". Get over it.

Okay so nick quick question would you rather buy his sunfire for 10k or buy oh seems a few of the normals are selling of their cars ( phlatcavs sedan 7k with built motor, blue splashs turboed eco for 5k, darkstars selling his not sure how much though ) or his sunfire ? Hell even if those names werent known here on the jbo do you think someone with that amount of money is going to send it on which of the 3-4 cars ?

The only place you see sunfires or cavaliers at that price with that milage are at the dealerships and even they dont get what they want for those cars. Good luck in trying to sell it

I thought posting a screen shot of the price KBB quoted would at least shut a few people up who said the car wasn't worth more than 8k. It clearly shows that it is worth 9800. You know, a smart person knows a car that's listed for 10k isn't going to go for 10. The seller knows what he wants to get for it, say 9,500 or 9,000. But starting at 10k gives them more of a guarentee that they will pull in their desired price. If I started at 9,500 I would be lucky to get 9k. Anyone on here should be intelligent enough to know basic car selling tactics. Always price higher than what you expect to get. I know now that no one on this forum would want to buy my car and it's disappointing that those who want j-body cars to get respect out on the streets can't even respect the owners around the forum.

R3D05LsSport: You've proven my point earlier in the post. You said "normals". So what exactly do you mean by that? Because I take it as being an outsider. You're treating the so-called regular members with more respect. You seem to think that their vehicles are better than mine? That's the kind of attitude that I've found all over this site, that if your car isn't modded enough or is modded too much, or isn't modded to everyone's taste, you're considered an outsider. Just because their selling their cars for less then my "stock" sunfire doesn't mean your getting a better deal or a better car for that matter. At least with mine anyone who would buy it can do whatever they want with it, its a clean slate. A modded car was created to someone's particular taste, and its possible it will take even more money for a new owner to create the car they want.

I bought my 99 in 02 from the dealership with 27K miles on it. It was stickered for $5,999. Base model sedan, after the extended warrenty which paid for itself in the first 2 years, tax, title and tags it came to $8,498.

Not trying to be a prick, but if you CAN get 10K for it, consider your self extremely fortunate.

In 05 you could get a brand new cavalier base model manual for $9,999...

Like Nity9CavSedanCRJ said good luck selling it for that price. I bought my 00 sedan for $4500(after taxs warranty plates etc $8470) with 31000 miles on it in 03 perfect conditon not a scratch on it. I dont think your going to get the price you want for your car not to sound like a dick but its not going to happen.

Re: 2004 Sunfire For Sale (PA)

They bought it from a dealership for less then what you are asking no they are not 03+ but both were bought for under 9K with extended warranties. Im going out on a limb here and am going to say you are selling it as is no warranty right ? The price you posted up from kbb is with no scratches, dings, rock chips, dents, i mean your saying that your car is spot less, as if it had just rolled out of the assembly line. I highly doubt that but it could be your the only one that knows the condition of your car.

If you were to put it on ebay or autotrader with a price tag of 10k it will be there for a while. If you put a price tag of 7-8k you would probably sell it, but then again you say its in perfect condition. Like i said before good luck in selling it but it may take a while.

Sure you can get it to "come out to $9700", but I'm sorry.... a 3 year old J-body, low mileage or not, loaded to the gills or as clean as the day it rolled out of Lordstown, just simply isn't worth that much. If I saw a loaded 2004 Fire on a dealer lot, with a warranty and everything, I'd still say $10K is too much for it.

Also keep in mind that the values given by KBB are based on FACTORY equipment. Like when it says "allow wheels", that means the original Pontiac alloy wheels. When it says "premium sound", that means the Pontiac high end sound system, whatever that is. Sure, things like aftermarket wheels and a booming sound system add a certain appeal to a car, but in the long run they don't add nearly as much value as the equivalent OEM parts and only serve to limit your target market, making it even less likely that you will get your asking price.

As much as Fire2004 thinks we're trying to insult him or disrespect his car or (god forbid) "disrespect the scene", it's not that at all. This site, (most of) its members and it's moderators don't have short memories, and memory tells us that people asking exorbitant sums for their cars, nice or not, always wind up disappointed in the end. Take it as an insult if you want, but it is what it is.

i know what you mean and i didnt click on any of those. i did click on premium wheels do to the fact he has aftermarket wheels but thats it. everything else i click if it came standard on a fully loaded j. im not saying i disagree w/ you because i do agree that 10k is alittle much for that car. i was just pointing out that what he claims is some what relivent to what he said.
