hey whats up guys, i have a few questions about exhaust so that i know what out there might be the best things to do. My first question is what is the best size piping if i was gonna do the pipe from the exhaust back, and what are your opinion, as far a dual or single exhaust, right now i have a dual exhaust setup but i don tknow if i am getting the most out of my exhuast with that setup. and what are some of the best mufflers for a z24 cav, by the way it is a 95 2.3, and does anyone know of a place that sells headers or is it a waste of money for the difference with the header, if this will help, as far as mods go i have a cai, fidanza flywheel, dual exhaust, iridium plugs, ho manifold, as far as performance mods go, thanks for any and all help with this

Also if your planning to juice it or use some type of forced induction go with 2.5'['
But if your going to stay N/A then go with 2.25
Also headers make a HUGE difference performance wise.
Mufflers are for noise, not performance. But go with magnaflow.

Now now, Brenden...a wisely chosen free(er) flowing muffler will yield gains over a stock, restictive one (My choice is a Dynomax Super Turbo)
As for your exhaust question, I'm not sure what "do the pipe from the exhaust back" means. You're pretty much either gonna do a full or cat-back exhaust. Like he said above, think of any boost in your future meaning you should go with a minimum of 2.5", and for your size engine, either a 2"-2.5" for N/A. Personally, you would be fine with a single muffler setup if you're trying to save money. Or, you can do what I did if you like your "dual" look:
there are no headers made for a 95 Z24.with a 2.3 LO you want to go with 2 1/2 pipping and as far a mufflers use what ever one you liken i got mine from nopi.why are u useing iridium plugs?AC DELCO plugs are the best plugs for your car.
2.5 is useless unless your boosted. You actually start losing power if your N/A and have 2.5 piping.

"f your exhaust pipe is too large, the air actually flows slower at low RPM, because there's less volume being pushed downstream to fill the big pipe. Lower velocity makes for lower power. That same pipe probably performs wonderfully at high RPM when the engine is pushing out twice as much CFM, and the air velocity in the pipe is maximized. If your exhaust is too small, you get high velocity at low RPM, and reduced velocity at high RPM. There's a point at which it takes too much effort to push the gas through the small pipe."

Ok peope need to get educated on this @!#$....2.25 or 2.5 is your choice but 2.5 for turbo is the stupidest thing i've ever heard. 2.5 for a car with alot of boltons is fine, our cars lack low end and 2.5 would yield some good gains up top. Personally i think 2.25 is a waste unless you have a weak ass 2200.
If you are going turbo i wouldnt go any smaller than 3" just because thats how i like things and you will get faster spool and better performance all the way around.
But dude, hit me up on aim Kareem....i'll talk to you about everything. Size really depends on where you want to go with mods, if you are doing alot of boltons and maybe going with n20 in the future go with the 2.5.
