Looking to start a car club....
Thursday, January 25, 2007 7:06 PM
A few friends of mine are looking into starting a car club. preferably i would like members in South Jersey but Central Jersey and Philly are more than invited. The name we are thinking Street Sleepers. We don't have alot of requirements but I would prefer for the club to be focused on performance rather than looks. Which means if u have lambo doors u should equal amount of work put into ur motor. And OEM upgrades are a plus. Which means if u have an Cavalier LS or Sunfire and u upgrade using Z24 or Sunfire GT parts that's a plus. But no excessive lighting, huge wings & plz no tv's everywhere. I'm trying to keep the cars as clean as possible. If there is a big amount of interest i'll will be making some small vinyls to attach to the windows. If u have any interest you can hit me up at OriginalJerseyBoy@hotmail.com. I plan on setting up a meet sometime this spring.

nah we just started this today. and about j-body.org being a car club i thought it was just a online forum. cuz i know I on NewTiburon.com but there is no newtiburon car club. all car makes are welcome it's not just imports or domestics as long as it's clean im cool with it.

He probably means cars like mine wouldn't be allowed in his club, begin that my engine is not up to par with my stereo and suspension, interior, verticel doors etc. He wants a Tuner Club, not a Car Show club.

If you need some vinyls for the club hit me up and ill be more than glad to produce them for you.

Sounds like a good plan you got going though, huge wings and lights are a turn off when people go overboard.

exactly im' looking for a tuner club but if you have plans for ur car to upgrade the motor it's than. plus from the looks of ur car (ROLN19s) it's a pretty clean car. u don't have a huge wing and stickers everywhere. well if anyone is interested. hit me up on my email OriginalJerseyBoy@hotmail.com and send me some pics and specs of your car. I'm currently making a cardomain and then I plan on making a website again. This car club is open to all car makes it's not manufactuer specific. Hell i drive a Hyundai...lol

a club trying to be nothing but sleepers is going to be a waste.. believe me I tried.. it was the largest grouping of 15 second cavaliers ever.

basing it on tuning is a little more pheasible.. but i still think you're wasting your time. Most people like to drive fast.. but there's a difference between having a lead foot, and having a fast car.

unfortunately, most people (especially 'tuners') can't tell the difference.

I'm in south jersey. The cars can have lambo doors and other things but it's gotta also have engine work done. I wanna have well balanced cars. I don't the cars to look like pep boys "performance aisle" specials. I've seen many clean cavaliers around where I live. Also I don't think it's gonna be a waste cuz it's be open to many different cars. I'm getting interested from Neons, Celica, Focus, Protege, Tiburon, Sentra Spec-V, Eclipse, Escort forums so it's gonna have a nice variety of cars.

Joe, you have no wing, you're in! My yugo doesn't have a wing or stickers, but there's some duct tape. Am I still in? Does periodically adding oil to my engine count as engine work?

this club is going to be ridicious i hate to say it.

you say you'd rather have more performace club then a looks club but you dont want anyone with any kind of forced induction. im not trying to knock you here but it seems like your not even sure what you want. so basically your looking for cars with little to none exterior work, small simple bolt on performance parts and no rice.

you can have clean cars that have a heavyly modded exterior and motor work. plus a turbo doesnt make a car less clean

no i'm saying it doesn't have to be f/i. let me clarify this. i'm looking for clean cars doesn't matter if it's n/a, turbo, nitrous or supercharged. No excessive neons, sheetmetal wings, no 7 tv's in the car. just sleek looking cars. Exterior Mods I would like to keep to a mininum. Such as a lip kit or carbon fiber hood. I've seen some very clean jbody's around jersey so now they are out there. It's a regular car club, I'm just looking for cars with no rice plain and simple.
