does anyone know the laws on smoked headlight covers ?

I had em a LOOONG time ago, during the day you can have them on. At dusk i had a cop say something to me about them that they were illegal and nothing else was done. I realized they were gay and just got rid of em anyways. You can't see at night with them on either to well, so i would say save the 50 bucks and use it else wheres man.
